On Wednesday 26 March, the Antonio Cabeza auditorium in Paterna hosted the presentation of the book Vicente Andreu Bort: Un hombre hecho a sí mismo, a biography covering the life and legacy of the founder of Andreu Barberá, S.L. It was a moving event that brought together more than 400 people, including family, friends, neighbours, collaborators and local figures.
During the event, several speeches were given by people close to Vicente, who highlighted not only his human qualities, his commitment to his work and his town, and the achievements that marked his life, but also the fundamental role played by his wife, Fina Barberá Albiach, throughout his life. It was a shared, heartfelt tribute full of affection for them both.
One of the most moving moments of the afternoon came from his granddaughters, Julia and Ana, who spoke a few words to their grandparents, in the form of a dialogue between the two of them, full of emotion and admiration, and ended by presenting Fina with a bouquet of flowers as a symbol of gratitude and love. This prompted one of the warmest ovations of the afternoon, reflecting the affection and admiration shared by everyone present.
The Mayor of Paterna, Juan Antonio Sagredo, managed to arrive from Madrid in time to close the event with a moving speech, bringing to an end an afternoon full of memories and recognition.
Afterwards, a reception was held and every attendee received a copy of the book. Given the excellent response, the family has decided to release a new edition.
