At the end of last November, the San Vicente ward at Hospital Niño Jesús in Madrid was opened, having been refurbished by the Madrid Health Service (Servicio Madrileño de Salud) with the selfless collaboration of various organisations such as schools, town councils, associations and companies, which helped make this initiative a reality.
Andreu was one of these collaborating organisations and attended the opening of this children’s ward, intended to offer patients and their families a renewed and efficient space, the culmination of this wonderful initiative.
The Hospital Infantil Universitario Niño Jesús is a national reference centre for many neurological, metabolic and endocrine diseases, to which children from outside Madrid are referred by their local hospitals, so this project helps children from all over Spain.
This project brings together goals such as supporting research into diseases, improving the quality of life of children and their families, supporting education and rehabilitation therapies for the little ones, and promoting leisure and free-time activities.
