The European standard UNE-EN 1634-3 sets out the test methods for smoke control doors. Currently, smoke control doors are only mandatory in the United Kingdom, Poland and Luxembourg. However, in more and more projects, the client or the project management team is including this requirement.
The standard sets out 2 categories of smoke control:
1. Sa or cold smoke. This involves controlling the flow of smoke passing through a door at ambient temperature.
2. Sm or S200 or hot smoke. The smoke flow is measured while heating the door to 200ºC.
Andreu offers a smoke control kit for its entire Turia range, which makes it possible to add Sa or Sm/S200 performance to the EI2tt-C5 rating, depending on the type of kit.
The Smoke Control Kits combine up to 4 types of seals of different compositions (PVC, polyvinyl, polyurethane, graphite and EPDM), easy to install, to achieve Sa or Sm/S200 smoke control performance in accordance with EN 1634-3.
