In November, standard EN 16034 comes into force, defining the requirements for obtaining CE marking of fire doors and smoke control doors. Andreu will take part in this conference, with José Vicente Andreu, coordinator of the TECNIFUEGO-AESPI Fire Doors Sector Committee, as a speaker. His talk will address the specific installation, use and maintenance requirements for fire doors set out in standard UNE 23740-1:2016.
Andreu will take part in further technical conferences throughout November, as 1 November marks the start of the coexistence period for CE marking of Fire Doors under standard EN 16034. During this three-year period, both door manufacturers and construction-related bodies must adapt to this new regulatory framework, so that from November 2019 all fire doors installed in the European Union bear the CE marking in compliance with the Construction Products Regulation.
