Diego Macías and Marta García deliver outstanding performances at the Spanish Championships.
Diego Maciá, a player at Club Ajedrez Andreu Paterna aged just 15, finished fifth in the Spanish Open Blitz Chess Championship, recently held in Linares.
Just a few weeks earlier, Macías took third place in the Under-18 Classical Chess category, as well as a sensational double in his own category, Under-16, winning both the Classical Chess and Rapid Chess events.
Also at the Spanish Classical Chess Championship, special mention goes to the success of Marta García, a player at Club Escacs Xeraco who is affiliated with Club Ajedrez Andreu Paterna, with whom she competes in the Spanish Championships. At 22, she was crowned Spanish Champion for the first time.
These victories add to those of sisters Anna and Mariya Muzychuk, chess players with a long association with Club Ajedrez Andreu Paterna, who recently won the gold medal for Ukraine at the Chess Olympiad held in Chennai, India.
Congratulations to all the members of Club Ajedrez Andreu Paterna.
