16/09/2022

Diego Macías and Marta García achieve outstanding performances in the Spanish Championships.

Diego Maciá, player of the Andreu Paterna Chess Club, only 15 years old, reaches the fifth position of the Absolute Spanish Lightning Chess Championship, played recently in Linares.

Just a few weeks ago, Macías achieved third place in the Classical Chess modality of the sub-18 category, as well as a sensational double in his category, the sub-16, winning both in the Classical Chess and Rapid Games modalities.

Also in the Spanish Classical Chess Championship, it is worth mentioning the success of Marta García, player of the Escacs Xeraco Club and linked to the Andreu Paterna Chess Club, with which she disputes the Spanish Championships. She at 22 years old managed to be proclaimed Champion of Spain by first time.

These triumphs are added to those of the siblings Anna and Mariya Muzychuk, chess players with a long relationship with the Andreu Paterna Chess Club, who recently won the gold medal for Ukraine at the Chess Olympiad in Chennai, India.

Congratulations to all members of the Andreu Paterna Chess Club.
